“As I hope my texts implied we had a very successful trip. Actually the last two have been fantastic. We loved Tina (‘Minotaur’) and the good solid grub there that evening. Good idea! Aegina day was great, and it worked well ending at Sounion. Olympia day was good - lovely meal after site, at the family restaurant you suggested. We enjoyed the Minoa. They fixed up some karaoke for our troops. Our kids excelled themselves by returning to the hotel like church mice that night. It was a great trip, and worked brilliantly. “A party of 13 took in 18 sites and 12 museums in seven busy days. The group maintained interest and enthusiasm during the whole visit. The highlights were many, but the three most striking Classical sites had to be Olympia, seen in the morning, with mist rising in the valley; Delphi, seen first as the sun set over the Corinthian Gulf; and the Acropolis, looking across the sprawling mess of the now crowded Greek capital city. We were also in Napflion for the Independence Day parades of the 25th March, where we were able to enjoy many Greeks in national dress, and lots of nationalistic flag waving. All was bound together by the intense pride felt by the Greeks in everything that their country has to offer, and their desire to show it off to everyone who shows an interest." Chris Townsend, Stowe
